Anxiety disorder treatment. You may well be asking if there even is one. A drug free way to stop them.
I can tell you a drug free treatment is definitely possible. It’s not exactly a “cure” but as near as you will get. It’s not like you can take a pill and cure them for good. But you can learn to stop them for good.
I suffered panic & anxiety attacks for a few years after a bad motorcycle spill. I tried all sorts of drugs to keep them at bay. I got very little benefit but worse was that I knew any benefit I did get would cease when I came off the drugs.
Therein lies the problem with using drugs to combat anxiety attacks. If the drugs do help, that help is lost when you have to stop the drugs. Any decent doctor won’t let you take drugs for any length of time.
A worrying thought, but you will have to go ‘cold turkey’ at some point in your future. And the anxiety will be back. And you know they will hit you as bad, if not worse than ever.
Wouldn’t the best all round solution be a drug free social anxiety treatment of some sort? It may please you to know that it does exist and that it works very well for me. I control my anxiety attacks, they don’t control me.
I am no longer a victim waiting to be struck down at random. I actually know what kicks my anxiety episodes off so “random” isn’t strictly true. If I’m in a crowd or group of about three to four people I can feel an attack starting.
It got so bad with me I would run for my life if I got near a small group of people. In my subconscious mind I was aware that it was silly, there was no real danger. No matter, when I felt the panic rise, I was off like a jack rabbit.
I spent ages searching for a cure of some description. When the wait was over it was definitely worth it. Strangely though none of the doctors I saw mentioned a treatment like this.
You can keep on keeping on with your anxiety and your medication. Or decide to take thing in your own hands and check out what I put into action when an attack looms. I simply put what I learned into action and kill it dead in its tracks.
